DES PLAINES, Ill. - To assist its members in preparing to take the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) series of exams, the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) has released two NATE exam review presentations on CD - one for instructors and another for technicians.

Topics covered on the Air Distribution Service Review CD include duct fabrication equipment; fabrication techniques for metal duct and ductboard; installing metal duct, flexible duct, ductboard; grilles, registers, diffusers and dampers; chases used as ducts; reconnecting duct when replacing equipment; installing plenums; measuring airflow velocity, pressure, and volume; gathering design information; preparing systems for air tests; procedures

for conducting air tests; making adjustments; final tests; completing appropriate forms; noise problems; high utility bills; and wide temperature swings.

The instructor version provides the instructor with a tool for conducting a two- to four-hour review session. The instructor version is meant to support and reinforce instructional content. It is ideal for those who have extensive knowledge in the field and need an outline to follow in conducting a review for the NATE exams.
