Munters Corp., Moisture Control Services: Dehumidification System

The Humidity Control Unit (HCU) combines cooling and desiccant dehumidification technologies in one energy-efficient system to control dew point temperatures in hot, humid climates. It is capable of delivering dew points below 45°F and is designed for industrial temporary humidity control applications. All of the energy required for the regeneration of the desiccant wheel is recovered from the normally wasted condenser waste heat. HCU removes humidity utilizing a packaged refrigeration system in conjunction with an active titanium silica gel desiccant wheel. The desiccant wheel is regenerated using recycled heat from cooling components. Features include a built-in digital controller, remote monitoring capabilities, high-efficiency scroll compressors, and variable-speed drives. Two rental units are available: the HCU-3000 featuring 2,400-3,400 nominal cfm and the HCU-6000 with 4,000-6000 nominal cfm. The unit can be used for temporary humidity control in building construction, condensation and corrosion control in surface preparation and coating applications, and structural drying.
