May 12, 2009: Milwaukee Electric Tool Introduces New Test and Measurement Line

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. has created a new business unit dedicated to the Test and Measurement category. New products will launch in July with a focus on HVACR technicians and electricians.

The first wave of the new Test and Measurement line includes innovative alkaline products, and applies Milwaukee’s lithium-ion technology to deliver additional tools on the growing M12 cordless platform. In addition, the company said it will continue to develop this category as it moves forward in its corporate commitment to become a leader in the Test and Measurement category.

“With a strong user base in electrical, HVACR, MRO, and remodeling, there is an opportunity for Milwaukee to deliver overdue change to an under-served, dormant category,” said Steven Richman, president of Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. “We are dedicated to lead the industry by delivering new products with disruptive innovation, best-in-class performance, and solutions to enhance end-user productivity.”

Products in the line that are based on disposable alkaline batteries include the Voltage Detector with Work Light, Fork Meters, Laser Temp-Gun™ Thermometer, Digital Multimeter, and Clamp Meters. Rechargeable M12 cordless products in the line include the Sub-Scanner™ Detection Tool, Laser Temp-Gun™ Thermometers, and Clamp-Gun™ Clamp Meters. Many of the units come in two separate models with distinct feature sets specifically tailored to the needs of the HVACR technician and electrician.

With a commitment to developing trade-specific tools, Milwaukee said it will continue to build this platform to offer industry leading performance, safety, and ergonomics.
