The Geothermal Exchange Organization (GEO) expressed extreme disappointment that the House stopgap spending bill to fund the U.S. government does not include an extension of the Investment Tax Credit for geothermal heat pumps. The expiration of these tax credits, which apply to a range of efficiency technologies, will threaten thousands of U.S. jobs.
Research Shows Residential Sector Is of Growing Importance

ASHRAE announced that it is exploring its role in the residential market, looking at how it can contribute most effectively to improve the performance of residential buildings. The organization released a report, “ASHRAE and the Residential Construction Market,” which contains a series of recommendations to the board of directors.
Last year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) completed the rollout of version 3 of its Energy Star for New Homes program, and more HVAC contractors became involved in this process to certify efficient homes.
