ASHRAE, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and the International Code Council (ICC) have agreed to jointly develop the 2015 edition of the ICC/ASHRAE 700 National Green Building Standard. This is the third edition of the standard and the first time that ASHRAE has partnered in its development.
Ninety-four percent of green homeowners responded that they would recommend a green home to a friend, according to a national survey of homeowners who purchased a National Green Building Standard (NGBS)-certified green home built within the past three years.
Duct Sealing Technology Approved by Independent Lab

Aeroseal announced that it has been approved by Home Innovations Labs as a National Green Building Standard (NGBS) product. Homebuilders looking to receive NGBS certification may now use Aeroseal to fulfill the standard’s mandatory requirements for HVAC duct sealing.
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the International Code Council (ICC) announced the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approval of the 2012 ICC 700 National Green Building Standard. NAHB and ICC partnered to establish the green building standard, which was first published in 2009.
