Fuel Cells Are Expected to Generate More Than 16 Million kWh of Clean Electricity

Verizon has announced an agreement to install Bloom Energy fuel cell systems at three of its California-based locations: two call-switching centers in Los Angeles and San Francisco and a data center in San Jose. The solid oxide fuel cells are expected to generate more than 16 million kWh of clean electricity each year.
One of the toughest sells for contractors is the upfront costs of a new HVACR system, regardless of how quick the energy efficiency or environmental preservation paybacks might be. So one has to wonder if authors Mark Jacobson and Cristina Archer had upfront costs in mind when they wrote a study about wind power.
