ClimateMaster recently announced its Trilogy™ 40 series has exceeded 40 EER at ground-loop conditions and been certified by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

An upgrade to the Envision® product line, the 5 Series delivers whole-home comfort. The 5 Series 500A11 combines forced-air heating and a/c and generates a portion of a home’s hot water. Available in nine single-speed and six dual-capacity sizes from 1 to 6 tons, the geothermal heat pump system uses R-410A refrigerant.

WaterFurnace has launched the 7 Series, which the company said represents breakthroughs in energy efficiency, integrated technologies, communication capabilities, and comfort.

The 7 Series 700A11 is a variable-capacity geothermal unit available for homeowners that surpasses both 41 EER and 5.3 COP. It utilizes InfiniSpeed technology, a soft-start variable-capacity compressor, in concert with a variable-speed electronically commutated motor (ECM) blower and variable-speed loop pump.

As geothermal heat pump technology continues to grow in popularity, more contractors are starting to install pond loop systems. At 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, Sean Hogan, technical trainer, ClimateMaster, will present a 60-minute webinar specifically focusing on the various aspects of the pond loop configuration.

Legislation that encourages DOE to provide no less than $10 million “to support research, development, and strategic deployment of geothermal heat pump (GHP) technology” has been approved. Following a request from DOE for industry input, GEO presented its ideas.

Meline Engineering Corp., along with members of the California Geothermal Heat Pump Lobby Coalition, sent a request to Gov. Jerry Brown’s office recently for AB 2339 to be signed into law.
