Conservation Services Group (CSG), a leader in residential energy efficiency services, announced that Kathryn Orfino and Paul Cimino have joined its leadership team. Orfino, a green building and program management veteran, will lead CSG’s West region as regional vice president. Cimino joins the company as general counsel.
Newest Version of Green Building Rating System to Launch at Greenbuild

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced that its membership has voted to adopt LEED v4, the next update to its green building rating system. The final overall vote was 86 percent in favor of adopting LEED v4.
The new George W. Bush Presidential Center has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, its highest level of certification. It is the first presidential library to earn LEED Platinum certification for new construction.
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has appointed Tommy Linstroth, owner and founder of Savannah, Ga.-based Trident Sustainability Group, a sustainability and green building consulting firm, as a 2013 co-chair for its Value Healthy and Efficient Affordable Housing advocacy campaign.
The General Services Administration (GSA) has completed the restoration of the Hipolito Garcia Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in San Antonio. The renovated building is expected to achieve a 38.8 percent reduction in energy usage, which will result in energy cost savings of approximately $87,515 per year.
Leading green building and sustainability consultant Jerry Yudelson has released his annual list of “Top 10 Megatrends” for the green building industry. Yudelson said, “It looks like a good year ahead for the green building industry.”
Sterling University Housing, the student housing affiliate of The Dinerstein Companies, has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) for Homes Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for four of its student housing communities.
