Danfoss has introduced a mobile training unit equipped with carbon dioxide (CO₂) solutions and interactive learning modules to help boost CO₂ refrigeration system competency among system builders, refrigeration contractors, service technicians, installers, and technical departments of food retailers.
A company has invented and patented a method for freezing edible alcohol products. The consistency of the products ranges from hard and solid through sorbet-like, and all stay frozen in the temperature range of 24°-28° without affecting taste, consistency, or alcohol content.
As heat energy is removed from a substance, its molecular activity will decrease; as heat energy is added, its molecular activity will increase. The intensity of this molecular activity affects the temperature of the substance.
What are the two most important qualities customers look for in a refrigeration contractor? The first is responsiveness. As the saying goes, “Ice cream has no patience.” The second most important quality is knowledge in this era of constantly changing refrigerant and energy regulations.

Continuing its efforts to bring energy storage to both utilities and facilities with large refrigeration and air conditioning needs, Axiom Exergy has been granted a patent for direct expansion thermal energy storage.
One method of head-pressure control during low ambient conditions is to use a mechanical hold-back or flooding valve located at the outlet of the condenser to hold back or flood liquid refrigerant in the condenser. This valve is often referred to as an open on rise of inlet (ORI) valve because it will start to throttle open on a rise in condenser pressure.
