Formerly the vice president and general manager at Grace Construction Products, Golen made the transition from the construction products industry to refrigeration at Heatcraft in 2010. He drew upon similarities between the two industries, such as relatively seasonal product demand and utilization of distributors in sales to contractors, to quickly learn the ropes.
During the four-day event, HARDI announced the re-launch of one of its four strategic pillars, Education, which will serve as the new Talent pillar and provide a broader scope of services and resources to members as it relates to their employees and workforce development.
White House chief of staff, Reince Priebus, issued a memorandum declaring a government-wide freeze on new or pending regulations. The HVAC industry has generally reacted positively to this news, feeling that this freeze gives HVAC organizations more time to explain to the administration why these regulations should not be published.

Hart & Cooley Inc., a business unit of Johnson Controls’ Building Technologies & Solutions, announced the appointment of Michael Braun as vice president — wholesale channel. In his new role, Braun is responsible for sales and customer service support for Hart & Cooley’s wholesale business.
Gregg Young went to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2017, from complications following back surgery. He was born to Mary Berniece (Roberts) and John James “Jack” Young on Jan. 4, 1960. He is cherished husband of Nancy Alexander Young for 32 years, beloved father to Jessica Lynn and James “Jay” Alexander, and also loved by other close family and many wonderful friends.
Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) announced its 2017 initiative to repeal the federal estate tax. This year HARDI members will “Heat Up the Hill” to support South Dakota Republican Sen. John Thune and Rep. Kristi Noem’s Death Tax Repeal Act of 2017, S. 205 and H.R. 631.
