Jan. 10, 2006: NATE, AABC Certification Testing To Be Offered At AHR Expo

WESTPORT, Conn. - North American Technician Excellence (NATE) and the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) will offer certification training and testing onsite at the 2006 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) in Chicago. NATE, a leading independent certification group for HVAC technicians, has been conducting certification testing for residential and light commercial technicians at the AHR Expo for several years, while AABC, a leading association of certified commissioning authorities, will hold a CxA Workshop and Exam for the first time at the show.

NATE is providing this test session as a certification opportunity for the hundreds of technicians who will be attending the Expo. Technicians can also register to take their specialty re-certification test at the show.

NATE will hold its session on Monday, Jan. 23, 7:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m., in Room S401A at McCormick Place. For registration information go to www.natex.org. The NATE-sponsored exams provide technicians with certification testing for five industry specialties: air conditioning, air distribution, gas heating, heat pumps, and oil heating.

AABC will offer the CxA Workshop and Exam on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., in Room S401A at McCormick Place. The five-hour educational workshop for commissioning providers will be followed by a three-hour certification exam. For registration information go to www.commissioning.org or email info@commissioning.org. AABC is a nonprofit association of certified commissioning authorities dedicated to the advancement of professional, independent commissioning services through education, training, and certification of qualified architects and engineers.
