A line of water- and air-cooled chillers for use in HVAC residential and commercial applications is available. The equipment can be installed as stand-alone units or supplemental to existing chilled-water systems. The line offers units ranging in size from 6 to 30 tons. According to the manufacturer, the hybrid chiller was designed to minimize energy consumption and maximize system design flexibility. Incorporated into the chiller are fast-acting sensors and controls tied into an onboard programmable logic controller that monitors and adjusts all of the hybrid chiller functions in real time. This keeps the unit running at peak efficiency all the time.
