The Smartcool ECO3™ is a microprocessor-based energy-saving device that reduces compressor run time and maintains temperature performance while reducing energy usage. Energy software technology can provide energy savings of up to 22 percent when installed on single or double compressor a/c and/or refrigeration units, states the company. By optimizing the efficiency of the compressor usage, the Smartcool device decreases run times while maintaining set points. Because the compressor is running more efficiently, the pre-set space temperature performance is maintained with fewer compressor operating hours, resulting in less electricity being used. With this reduction in run time also comes the ancillary benefit of longer compressor life, states the company. The device is designed for smaller scale cooling systems. It is available in two different models: the ECO3 Single and ECO3 Dual.
