Dec. 5, 2007: Harris Companies Acquires Climate Control
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Harris Companies, one of the largest mechanical contractors in the United States, announced that it has acquired Climate Control, a Phoenix-based mechanical contractor serving the commercial and residential sectors.
This acquisition marks the fourth major market for Harris Companies, which will now have offices in St. Paul and Rochester, Minn., Salt Lake City, and Phoenix, in addition to satellite offices in Northfield and Austin, Minn. Harris Companies employs 620 with anticipated revenues of $190 million in 2007. Climate Control employs 100 with revenues of more than $14 million.
Harris Companies is an employee-owned business that designs, builds, and installs piping, plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and electrical systems for commercial and industrial customers. Climate Control provides these services throughout Arizona, for commercial and residential construction.
Greg Hosch, president of Harris Companies, said, “This is a perfect match. While our company was founded in 1948, Climate Control was established in 2005 and has grown exponentially in that short time. Hosch said Climate Control’s name and management will remain in place. Where there is duplication of services, Hosch plans to place these people in new roles to support anticipated growth in the Phoenix office.
