Siemens Energy & Automation recently brought its 14-car Exider technology train to the Greenfield Village at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich. The 1,000-foot train is on the final leg of a world tour that has attracted nearly 100,000 visitors in 15 countries in Europe and Asia. After leaving Michigan, the train is scheduled to travel to Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and parts of Mexico and Canada.

The Exider train gives customers a first-hand look at examples of advanced manufacturing processes from around the world. It is equipped with 224 plasma screens and monitors, 189 DVD players, four servers, nine miles of electrical cables, and almost two miles of data lines, all designed to give visitors a look at modern industrial automation.
