A new handheld motor rotation detector determines the rotation of any electric motor in seconds, the company says. The device features a microprocessor able to sense the magnetic field of an energized motor and identify its rotational direction. Designed for technicians working on equipment with concealed motor shafts or covered rotating elements, the detector works on all 60-cycle, ac motors and can fit easily in a toolbox, says the manufacturer. The unit is powered by a standard 9-V battery.
