Aug. 11, 2004: Hussmann To Sell Cooler Facility To Imperial

BRIDGETON, Mo. - Hussmann Corp. has announced an agreement to sell the total assets of its walk-in cooler manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Ala., to Imperial Manufacturing of Alabama LLC, a subsidiary of Imperial Manufacturing Ice Cold Coolers Inc.

According to the companies, with this agreement Imperial Manufacturing will become a key strategic supplier to Hussmann, allowing both companies to more effectively serve the walk-in cooler needs of the North American food industry. Imperial will manufacture cooler panels to Hussmann's specifications, many of which will be private labeled with the Hussmann brand name and sold through Hussmann sales and distribution networks in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Both companies indicate that they will benefit from the agreement. Imperial will gain greater access to the North American walk-in cooler market, and will have the opportunity to use Hussmann refrigerated glass doors, condensing units, and coils on their coolers. Hussmann will be able to continue supplying their labeled cooler products, and customers will receive uninterrupted products and support from their preferred equipment supplier, the companies say.
