  • The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) (Chantilly, Va.) presented a $10,000 contribution to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Research Foundation. The money will support the ASHRAE research project “Underfloor Air Distribution – Life Cycle Cost and Environmental Analysis.”

  • The Heat Exchange Institute (HEI) (Cleveland) has released the seventh edition of “Standards and Typical Specifications for Tray Type Deaerators.” The standard can be purchased by contacting HEI at 216-241-7333.

  • The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced that the city of Pasadena, Texas, voted to adopt NFPA 5000™: Building Construction and Safety Code™.

  • The Air Movement and Control Association International Inc. (AMCA) has announced that Kruger Ventilation Industries Philippines Inc. is now participating in its Certified Ratings Program. AMCA recently licensed a number of the manufacturer’s products.
