Aspect, BuildPoint partner to offer online catalog

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Aspect Development Inc., a maker of collaborative solutions for B2B e-commerce, and BuildPoint Corp., market “maker” for the construc-tion industry, announced an agreement to provide the industry’s “largest” online catalog, according to the companies.

BuildPoint will deploy Aspect’s e-business solutions, including content management software and services, through Aspect’s subsidiary Infinite Supply™. The online catalog will feature more than two million SKUs (stock-keeping units) and will facilitate materials procurement in the construction industry.

Aspect and BuildPoint said they will combine their respective supplier networks to create a construction marketplace where contractors and suppliers meet and transact business online. Users will have access to standardized, accurate, and efficient searches through products in categories such as hvac, electrical, pipes, valves, and fittings.

“Combining BuildPoint’s expertise in the construction industry with Aspect’s proven software solutions, content expertise, and network of thousands of suppliers and manufacturers, accelerates the adoption of e-commerce in the construction industry,” said Romesh Wadhwani, chairman and ceo of Aspect.

“It will increase the transaction volume and the number of professionals doing business on BuildPoint.com.”
