ARI And KRAAC Sign Agreement

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and the Korea Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Assessment Center (KRAAC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on July 26. It grants KRAAC the license to utilize all ARI performance standards, updates, and modifications in the development of industry standards in Korea.

According to the organizations, ARI and KRAAC entered into the partnership with the same goals: to promote the harmonization of ARI and Korean HVACR standards; to promote communication and information exchange between the organizations; to avoid duplication of work, where possible; to promote knowledge of standard development activities of each organization; to mutually promote relevant standards and certification programs; and to jointly sponsor training seminars, meetings, and trade shows.

According to ARI President William G. Sutton, "The signing of this MOU has strengthened the relationship between ARI and KRAAC and will help promote the development of the Korean and U.S. air conditioning industries. This is a cause for celebration."
