ACCA Akron-Canton Chapter Gives Gift Of Warmth

AKRON, Ohio - The Akron-Canton Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) recently brought warmth to 100 low-income Summit County homeowners. The ACCA chapter, in conjunction with Rebuilding Together Summit County, offered them free furnace inspections and tune-ups in early October.

Paul C. Holm, executive director of Rebuilding Together Summit County, called the "Heat the Town" event a grand success.

In a newspaper interview with the Akron Beacon Journal, ACCA chairman Larry Burris said, "We discovered 36 dangerous or red-tag issues, six of which were life-endangering situations. Some people are still unaware that keeping your equipment tuned up and in good working order can actually be a life-saving technique."

The following is a list of contractors who, along with help from 200 volunteers, donated their services:

Beckwith Heating & Cooling, Blind & Sons Heating & Cooling Inc., Brandon Heating & Cooling, Bud's Heating & Cooling, Best Commercial Energy Services, Biff's Comfort Systems, Bill's, Buckeye Heating & Air Conditioning Supply, Brandon Heating & Air Conditioning, Akron Public Schools, Northeast Ohio Heating & Air Conditioning, Jennings Heating & Cooling, Jackson Comfort Heating & Cooling, JEF Comfort Solutions, Hudson Heating, Carl's Heating & Air Conditioning, Crown Heating & Cooling, North High School's HVAC program, Lowry Furnace & Air Conditioning, Echols Heating & Air Conditioning, Falls Heating & Cooling, The K Co., Miracle Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Abbot Electric, Air Comfort, Engineering Heating & Cooling, Famous Supply, Wolff Brothers Supply, Tri-City Heating & Cooling, ACCA, and Rebuilding Together.
