KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ruskin announced that it has acquired NRG Industries Inc., a privately held company based in Carrollton, Texas, for an undisclosed amount. NRG will be integrated into Ruskin, part of the Air Systems Components Division of Tomkins.

Ruskin is a leading manufacturer of air and sound control products for the HVAC industry, and also has responsibility for Lau OEM fan products.

NRG is a multi-brand manufacturer of commercial HVAC accessories and systems with three operating subsidiaries: Rooftop Systems Inc., National Duct Systems Inc., and Glass Master Inc. Rooftop Systems manufactures commercial air conditioning products and accessories including free-cooling economizers, roof curbs, curb adapters, energy recovery ventilators, and concentric diffusers; National Duct Systems fabricates metal ductwork for sheet metal contractors; and Glass Master manufactures specialty equipment used for cutting, forming, and assembling fiberglass ductwork. Collectively, they represent annual sales of approximately $43 million dollars.

Tom Edwards, president of Ruskin, stated, "NRG has built an excellent reputation in its respective markets and is a great fit with Ruskin. They provide products that are complementary to our offering and further expand our portfolio. NRG has developed innovative free-cooling economizers and heat-recovery products that are proven to make air conditioning systems more efficient. This coupled with Ruskin's expertise in air measuring technology and air control will provide customers with energy efficient features that are extremely important in today's building environment."
