Messe Frankfurt, Inc., Atlanta, GA, and Business News Publishing Company (BNP), Troy, MI, have agreed to market and promote ISH (International Sanitation & Heating) North America. This international conference and trade show is set to take place Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2002, in Toronto, ON, Canada.

The show will encompass air conditioning, heating, appliances, energy management, kitchen and bath, plumbing, and related technologies. Messe Frankfurt, which hosts ISH North America in cooperation with the former organizers of the NEX trade show, including the American Supply Association, Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating, and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association, will market the show to attendees and exhibitors using eight BNP trade magazines, including the Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News. Other BNP publications selected by Messe Frankfurt include Plumbing & Mechanical, PM Engineer, Supply House Times, Appliance Manufacturer, Engineered Systems, Energy User News, and SNIPS. The eight BNP publications have nearly 300,000 total audited subscribers, with total readership of 900,000. BNP is the only publisher to offer such a concentration of readers in these related industry sectors.

Messe Frankfurt traces its roots back more than 760 years. The company hosts over 100 events annually worldwide, including many that are the largest in their respective industry. Messe Frankfurt, Inc., the North American subsidiary, organizes all North American events and represents the group’s international trade shows for the region. ISH North America is patterned after Messe Frankfurt’s highly successful trade shows held throughout the world. Currently, Messe Frankfurt holds ISH shows in Germany and China. Messe Frankfurt also owns and manages shows in the lighting and other fields.

“We look forward to working with BNP and its publications in building a broad industry base for ISH North America. We are very excited about the positive reactions we have received from the respective industry groups since the first announcement of the show. ISH North America is destined to become a comprehensive event covering all the sectors ISH is known for. The integration of the former NEX show was a first step in achieving an industry show that has long been asked for in North America. Other industry entities and trade associations are invited to join this effort for the overall benefit of the industry,” said a Messe Frankfurt spokesperson.

“We are excited to package our publishing and Internet resources to assist Messe Frankfurt and its partners in the launch of ISH North America,” said BNP’s Construction & Manufacturing Division director Tim Fausch. “ISH North America meets a real need in the plumbing/hvac/kitchen & bath field. Manufacturers and attendees have begged for years for one large international event in which to invest their time and resources.”

The first ISH North America will be held in Toronto’s National Trade Centre. The show’s goal is to provide the building industry with one consolidated annual event to serve the mutual interests of national and international manufacturers and buyers. These buyers include hvac and plumbing contractors, wholesalers, and engineers; kitchen and bath dealers; builders/remodelers; designers and architects; home centers; and manufacturer agents.
