CLEVELAND - Eaton Corp. and Johnson Controls (Milwaukee) have announced an agreement to offer variable-speed AC drive technologies, systems, and services to the HVAC and pumping industries. According to the companies, this combination of Johnson Controls building automation and Eaton electrical technologies will provide customers with a complete controls solution, leading to significant energy savings.

Eaton provides AC drive technology for industrial and commercial applications. The VS series of variable-speed drives that will be sold through Johnson Controls is engineered for HVAC, pump, and fluid control applications. The units are designed to reduce installation time and costs, while offering network compatibility.

"This relationship will allow us to provide complete solutions that nobody in the marketplace currently provides," said Don Albinger, vice president of global sales, Johnson Controls. Tom Doring, drives business unit manager, industrial control division, for Eaton's electrical business said, "We will work closely with Johnson Controls to ensure the most up-to-date AC drive technologies are available for the market as it continues to grow."
