July 8, 2005: ARI Updates Three Standards
Standard 440-2005 establishes a single set of requirement for the testing and rating of total cooling capacity, sensible cooling capacity, and power input for room fan-coil air conditioners and unit ventilators.
Standard 495-2005 establishes a single set of requirements for the testing and rating of storage capacity for refrigerant liquid receivers.
Standard 610-2004 establishes a single set of requirements for the testing and rating of humidification capacity, air pressure drop, energy consumption, and energy efficiency for central system humidifiers used in residential applications. Central system humidifiers are defined as humidifiers intended to be installed on ducted residential heating/cooling central systems.
ARI develops and publishes performance rating standards for industry products. These standards establish rating criteria and procedures for measuring and certifying product performance, so that products are rated on a uniform basis.
Standards are available for free download at ARI's Web site, www.ari.org.
