New solar electric systems have been installed in Los Angeles, CA, and Chicago, IL.

Los Angeles’ Department of Water and Power (DWP) announced that it has completed a 200-kW solar energy system on the roof of the headquarters building of Neutrogena Corp. The company received a $1 million incentive from DWP for the $1.4 million system.

In Chicago, Spire Solar Chicago finished installation of a 49-kW solar energy system on the roof of the Field Museum of Natural History. This system will generate 60,000 kWh of electricity per year, which is enough to power 10 houses.
