The 2006 handbook,Refrigeration, covers the refrigeration equipment and systems for applications other than human comfort. It includes information on cooling, freezing, and storing food; industrial applications of refrigeration; and low-temperature refrigeration. Guidance on the use of carbon dioxide as a refrigerant has been added to the book. A chapter on the containment, recovery, recycling, and reclamation of refrigerant has been inserted. A chapter covering food store refrigeration equipment has new discussions on self-contained versus remote systems, energy efficiency, storage rooms, and interaction with supermarket air conditioning systems. Another chapter, "Refrigeration Load," has new information on heat gain from cooler floors and coil defrosting. Other chapters in the book also have new content in them. The handbook is available in both English and metric units; the handbook CD contains both the metric and English versions.
