WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Two members of the Winnipeg Chapter of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) have been accorded special honors.

Sidney Bloomfield passed a Certificate Member Specialist (CMS) exam to be recognized as an Electrical Specialist. Within RSES, passage of a CMS exam is considered the equivalent of a master's degree in terms of expertise.

Bloomfield is employed as an apprenticeship instructor for Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade. The Electrical Specialist is the third such CMS honor he has received. Previously he received CMS recognition in Commercial Refrigeration and Commercial Air Conditioning. RSES offers seven CMS categories, and Bloomfield plans to continue to seek the others.

Mark Loan, an instructor at Red River College in Winnipeg, has received Certification Member (CM) status following passage of an exam that is considered the equivalent of a bachelor's degree within RSES. The CM exam is available to all RSES members and is a prerequisite for pursuing CMS recognition.
