The PB Series Sabre residential oil-fired boiler has extra-deep 4-3/4-inch cast iron sections, offering larger water content and increased water surface in the boiler, says the company. The boiler offers an efficiency of up to 86.2 (water) and 85.6 (steam) AFUE. The series provides clean combustion and rear outlet design to reduce noise levels. Eight models are available, ranging in heating capacity from 91 to 249 MBtuh. Features of both the water and the steam boilers include Beckett AFG flame-retention burner with nozzle; cast iron smoke hood, wet base sections, and heater cover plate; and preformed target wall. Features of the steam-only boilers also include high-limit pressure control, steam pressure gauge, ASME safety relief valve (15 psi), gauge glass and fittings, and HydroLevel low-water cutoff. Features of the water boilers include hydronic relay, high-limit and circulator control; ASME relief valve (30 psi); Taco circulator; and brass drain cock. The company says the boiler provides ample, low-cost domestic hot water without the expense of a separate water heater.
