BALTIMORE - Danfoss Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Division recently sponsored the first annual Bennett Blazers Sled Hockey Tournament at Ice World in Abingdon, Md. The Bennett Institute Physically Challenged Sports Recreation Program of Kennedy Krieger supports athletic programs for physically challenged athletes. Athletes who are unable to play hockey standing up play sled hockey.

"These athletes will amaze you with the skill and finesse they utilize to play the great game of hockey," said Gerry Herman, co-director of the Physically Challenged Sports Recreation Program.

This game requires full hockey equipment because USA Hockey rules apply. The only difference is that the players propel themselves on specially designed "sleds" equipped with two smaller hockey sticks.

"Danfoss believes in supporting the local communities where they operate, and this is truly a wonderful cause," said Jeff Douglas, Danfoss vice president of aftermarket.
