CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Nibco Inc. hosted members of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation's board of governors during its recent meeting in Charlottesville. The board of governors is composed of contractors, manufacturers, and other industry partners who are major contributors to the Educational Foundation. They are responsible for developing and carrying out business management programs for contractors.

Alice Martin, vice chairman of Nibco, kicked off the meeting by treating participants to a tour of the company's copper fittings manufacturing facility in nearby Stuarts Draft, Va. The attendees learned how streamlined procedures allow the plant to competitively produce their products, including more than 2 million elbow fittings per week.

The board of governors met May 5 for an update on foundation projects and educational efforts. Highlights of the meeting included the announcement of an apprenticeship instructor training conference to be jointly offered in 2006 by the PHCC Educational Foundation, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), and the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).
