INDIANAPOLIS - Bryant Heating and Cooling Systems announced the company's efforts to address the approaching 13 SEER mandate at the company's annual Indy 500 Dealer Rally. The announcement focused on its new cooling platform, as well as the unprecedented corporate investment that makes these activities possible. "It is vital that dealers and distributors understand that we are committed to doing whatever it takes to support their 13 SEER efforts," said Halsey Cook, president of Bryant.

"Our efforts began with a $250 million investment in our new cooling platform redesign, new manufacturing processes, additional technical staff, and 300,000 square feet of new manufacturing space in the United States."

In addition to the energy savings created by the redesign, Bryant dealers should know that future 13-SEER products "will be 20 percent smaller, weigh an average of 30 percent less, and require 40 percent less refrigerant charge than our existing 13-SEER product," said Rick Roetken, director of product marketing.

Throughout the design process, Bryant engineers have relied on dealer insight. Members of its Dealer Advisory Council and Partners in Development programs provided invaluable feedback about product design. Additionally, Bryant surveyed dealers at its 2004 National Convention and more than 2,400 homeowners to obtain a clear understanding of consumer needs.

The official product launch for the Bryant 13 SEER line will take place at the 2006 Dealer Meeting in Las Vegas in February 2006.
