On Feb. 23, 2005, on behalf of the Foundation, Sally Griffith, dean of the Harper College TMPS (Technology, Math, and Physical Science) Department, John Shola, coordinator of the Harper College Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Program, and Stuart Golden of Temperature Service Company, will present a check for $2,000 to student recipients Brian Pierce and Dina Stroh to continue their studies in HVACR.
The scholarship is being funded in part by Temperature Service Company, and by members and allies of EAI in the Midwestern region.
EAF is a nonprofit organization created to attract, educate, and develop students in HVACR programs by awarding as many scholarships as possible for the education of the future workforce in the contracting industry. One hundred percent of all contributions go directly to the Foundation scholarship fund and all administrative expenses are paid by Excellence Alliance.
EAF provides funds to qualified educational institutions as described in Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b)(1)(A)(ii) for distribution as qualified scholarships to individuals seeking education or training in the contracting industry.
Excellence Alliance is a membership organization that provides independent contracting companies with business management tools that include training, purchasing power, human resources services, consulting, and marketing services. There are currently over 250 member locations in EAI's nationwide network of residential and commercial/mechanical contractors representing over $2.5 billion in sales, says the organization.
