ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Marvair donated air conditioners and assistance to the Alpharetta Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team.

After the SWAT team purchased a bus, Marvair began designing and outfitting it. All the original seating was removed, reconfigured, and reinstalled to accommodate the needs of the team. Storage lockers, lighting, a workstation, and an armory were added. Marvair installed a generator, donated by Honda, to provide power when the bus is at a scene. Marvair also installed two Coleman-Mach rooftop air conditioners donated by Recreational Vehicle Products Inc.

"The bus transports the 14-man team, plus two medics and its large compliment of gear, to the operation site," said Deputy Chief Ed Densmore. "It serves as the command post, a place to make adjustments to weapons and equipment, and a place to receive new instructions as the operation develops. It provides a cool place to rest."
