The improved 12-inch duct slicer is ideal for piercing and cutting metal ducts and for takeoffs, says the company. It has a new, ergonomic, contoured, rubberized handle. The handle's internal structure has been designed to absorb shock when the shaft of the duct slicer is struck. The new handle is custom-molded to the shaft and will not crack, says the company. With a new beveled edge on the tip, the duct slicer slices through metal without causing dents in the duct, the company states. The heat-treated steel shaft is more durable and maintains a longer-lasting edge on the tip, says the manufacturer. A cutting notch in its blade can slice a straight or curved opening through metal.
