PALM DESERT, Calif. - Michael Mamayek, executive vice president of Illingworth Corp., Milwaukee, received the SMACNA Contractor of the Year award at the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association's (SMACNA) 62nd annual convention.

"For many years, Mike, a registered professional engineer, has been an active player on American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) technical and standards committees," SMACNA president Kevin Harpring said. "As a result of his personal involvement in both ASHRAE and SMACNA, he brings a unique and valuable perspective as to how SMACNA and ASHRAE standards interrelate and impact both the contractor and the engineer."

A member of SMACNA's board of directors from 1998 to 2002, Mamayek's service credentials include membership on the HVAC Duct Design Task Force, the HVAC Air Duct Leakage Task Force, the Duct Construction Standards Revision Committee, and the NEMI Underfloor Air Distribution Systems Task Force. He was inducted into SMACNA's College of Fellows in 2003.
