The electronic air cleaner uses the principle of agglomeration to join polarized submicron particles and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to each other as they pass through the central heating and cooling system, the manufacturer says. As the particles get larger during subsequent passes, they collect on the disposable low-static polarized media pads and the activated carbon center screen, the company states. Electronic air cleaners are available in 1- and 2-inch panels that fit directly into existing filter racks and filter grilles with 24-volt wiring.
