ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) has revised and approved for publication ARI Standard 340/360-2004, "Commercial and Industrial Unitary Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Equipment."

The standard establishes definitions, classifications, test requirements, minimum data requirements for published ratings, operating requirements, marking and nameplate data, and conformance conditions for commercial and industrial unitary air conditioners and heat pumps.

ARI develops and publishes performance-rating standards for industry products. The institute's standards establish rating criteria and procedures for measuring and certifying product performance, so that products are rated on a uniform basis.
