LIVONIA, Mich. - Guardian Environmental Services Inc. has announced that the company is celebrating its 20th year of doing business.

Guardian Environmental Services is a Livonia, Mich.-based mechanical contractor that started its business in April 1984 under the leadership of John C. Philbin and Anthony M. D'Ascenzo.

When it opened its doors, the company had three employees. Presently, it has over 60 employees.

Guardian covers southern Michigan, providing service and installation of HVAC equipment, onsite building operators, and installation and service of building management controls to commercial and industrial facilities.

The company has received awards for Commercial Contractor of the Year 2003 from the Michigan chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and the President's Circle Award from Staefa Controls for outstanding sales growth in 2003.

It is a member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, the Michigan chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 547.
