The high-valve pistol-grip infrared thermometer has a built-in laser pointer for aiming when taking noncontact temperature measurements. The unit is switchable between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Over a range of 0 degrees to 600 degrees F (-20 degrees to 320 degrees C), the basic accuracy is ±2 percent of reading or ±4 degrees F or ±2 degrees C, whichever is greater. According to the manufacturer, a fixed emissivity (0.95) covers 90 percent of surface temperature measurement applications, and audible and visible over-range indicators are standard. The field of view is 6:1. The unit operates on a 9-V battery and has an automatic power off feature.
