The Unified Group, a national network of 47 independently owned HVAC mechanical contractors, has formed a board of advisors to oversee the group's five business areas, including purchasing, business opportunities, membership, training, and marketing.

Serving two-year terms as chairs and co-chairs of the new board are:

  • Michael O'Connor, of Alltek Energy Systems in Waterford, N.Y., who will oversee purchasing with the assistance of co-chair Kelly O'Brien, of Guardian Environmental Services in Livonia, Mich.

  • The business opportunities chair is Woody Woodall, of W.E. Bowers in Beltsville, Md., and his co-chair is Sonia Nelson, of Mallory and Evans Service in Scottdale, Ga.

  • Heading membership is Marc Mapel, of Energy Management Specialists in Cleveland, and his co-chair is Dave Nichols, of Climate Systems in Williston, Vt.

  • Training is being headed by John Sloan, of Ruthrauff Inc. in McKees Rocks, Pa., whose co-chair is Robert Oetjen, of M & O Corp. in Bridgeport, Conn.

  • Michael Rosone, of Mechanical Service Corp. in Whippany, N.J., will oversee marketing with the help of co-chair Michael Sullivan, of Arden Engineering in Pawtucket, R.I.

    The mission of The Unified Group is to provide shared training opportunities, negotiate purchasing arrangements as a group, pursue national and regional business opportunities, and provide forums for information exchange and sharing of best practices.
