WORTH, Ill. - Local resident Melissa Matthis is the recipient of Air Comfort Corporation's Quality Improvement Process award for the second quarter of 2004.

An employee at Air Comfort since 2002, Matthis is the executive assistant, responsible for providing administrative support to senior management as well as the sales group. She also provides customer service support.

Prior to her work at Air Comfort, Matthis worked for Campagna-Turano Bakery where she provided customer service support for 8 years.

Jim Bartolotta, Air Comfort's executive vice president, said, "Melissa has demonstrated the qualities that every organization desires. She shines as the first contact that our customers hear on a daily basis. She is the first to offer a hand when she has a spare moment.

"We are proud to have Melissa as a part of our team and we appreciate all her efforts and the great attitude that she consistently exhibits."

Air Comfort began its Quality Improvement Process award program in 1993 to recognize employees whose outstanding efforts have contributed to the company's success.

Founded in 1935, Air Comfort began as an engineering company and equipment distributor for Dr. Willis H. Carrier's air conditioning products. The company now employs more than 100 people as a full-service HVAC contractor specializing in the design and installation of new equipment, retrofits of existing systems, maintenance programs, and emergency service.
