  • David Shapiro, founder of Shapiro & Duncan Inc. (Rockville, Md.), won the Contractor of the Year award from Trane (Tyler, Texas) and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC) (Falls Church, Va.). Runners-up for the award were Tony Robertson of Pettus Mechanical Services (Muscle Shoals, Ala.), James Murphy of Murphy Co. Inc. (St. Louis), and David Dugger of Kaltoff Inc. (Knoxville, Tenn.).
