KELOWNA, British Columbia - The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute (HRAI) of Canada presented its Education Supporter Award to several organizations at its annual conference in Kelowna, British Columbia. Among the recipients wasThe News.

"The News was chosen for the award based on all the help that [it] has given us in getting word about our ventilation training out to the U.S. HVAC industry," said Joanne Spurrell, HRAI director of education and market development.

She cited two articles that were particularly helpful. "One was about our partnership with Honeywell in the U.S., who bought into the training on a company basis, and we have already delivered eight courses with them in a variety of different states," she said.

"The other article was one prepared by one of our instructors on the importance of balancing ventilation systems. Both articles have generated additional interest in the training, and we are now working with some ACCA groups on tentative sessions. This training is needed so badly out there, and when folks see information being carried in a publication like The News, they seem to ‘listen up,' so to speak."
