CHANTILLY, Va. - The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) will present the Industrial Contractors Forum during its annual convention scheduled to take place in Maui, Hawaii, Oct. 24-28, 2004.

According to SMACNA, the forum will help contractors in the industrial market to learn how to deal with challenges related to project organization, material handling, and jobsite layout, among other issues.

Also during the forum, Kerry O'Brien, a management consultant specializing in construction productivity, will present "Increasing Profits by Improving Preplanning and Project Organization."

The forum will include a roundtable discussion on critical issues facing the market sector. Among the issues to be addressed are modular building of industrial systems and large manufacturers loosening standards to save on project costs and training.
