The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) College of Fellows awarded a $2,000 scholarship for the 2004-2005 academic year to Laura Reardon of Glenside, Pa.

Laura is the daughter of William F. Reardon, CAE, who is employed as chapter executive by the Sheet Metal Contractors' Association of Philadelphia and the Sheet Metal Contractors' Association of Northern New Jersey.

Graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Laura will attend Saint Joseph's University of Philadelphia and study pre-law. In addition to having an exemplary academic record, she was a varsity track athlete competing on the cross-country team. She was a member of the Mount Saint Joseph's Community Service Corp, a group that provides assistance to the elderly and tutors children, as well as Community Service for Animals.

SMACNA College of Fellows Scholarships are open to freshman and/or undergraduate college students whose parents are employed by SMACNA members, chapters, the national office, or associate members of SMACNA national. Criteria for selection include academic goals, academic achievement, and involvement in extracurricular and community activities. Since 1987, the College of Fellows has awarded close to $250,000 in scholarships to 50+ students.
