FALLS CHURCH, Va. - To encourage people to vote in and be informed about this year's elections, the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association (PHCC) has added an "Election 2004" section to its Web site.

According to Lake Coulson, vice president of government relations for PHCC, the section, accessed at www.phccweb.org, will help register individuals to vote and inform them about candidates and issues of interest.

"Regardless if one votes Republican or Democrat, one can look at the 2000 presidential election to illustrate the importance of ‘Get Out To Vote' efforts," he said. "In reviewing the data, six states were decided by less than 1 percent of the electorate, or by a mere 20,000 votes."

The "Election 2004" portion of the PHCC Web site also will feature a section on how legislators voted on key PHCC issues, the latest news of the association's lobbying activities, and sample letters to help individuals write to members of Congress.
