The Handy One™ flux-cored brazing wire can improve joint strength and reduce manufacturing costs, the company says. Cored material is made by starting with a brazing alloy in strip form that is then formed into a U-shaped channel, which is filled with a powdered flux. It is then closed to seal in the flux, forming a finished wire. According to the manufacturer, the use of this completely encased product eliminates several steps traditionally associated with flux, such as diluting, mixing, and its application. According to the company, flux-cored materials improve joint strength by reducing flux inclusions at the interface between the base metals.
