ORLANDO, Fla. -Spirax Sarco(www.spiraxsarco.com/us) introduced several products at the 2005 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo). The company highlighted its new Pivotrol condensate pump, which Neil Davies, pump product manager, noted has been engineered for dependable steam system condensate recovery in rapid-cycling process environments.

The Pivotrol pump is designed as a solution to excessive maintenance and energy consumption, heat exchanger stall, water hammer, and erratic steam system performance. The pump is backed by a 3 million cycle or three-year warranty with a lifetime spring warranty.

Spirax Sarco also introduced its Cool Blue TD-52 thermodynamic steam trap line, which offers reduced life-cycle energy consumption and maintenance requirements. Joe Radle, product manager for steam traps, noted that the Cool Blue TD-52 offers increased efficiency and a longer lifespan compared to conventional designs. The new steam trap features a specially engineered ceramic disc material with lower heat conductivity than steel alloy caps.

Also highlighted was SNAP Four, the first online edition of the company's tool for sizing and selecting steam system components. SNAP (Steam Needs Analysis Program) has been completely redesigned as a Web-based application, said Jon Dukes, technical support manager, and is available at www.snapfour.com.
