Billy Mozingo (right), The NEWS’ Best Instructor winner, of Pitt Community College.
Being a quality HVAC instructor is much more than textbooks and labs. Teachers can do more than simply convey what they know; they can impart enthusiasm for the subject, which makes the learning experience more effective. Once again,The NEWShas recognized the best in the HVAC instructor field. These individuals not only have the ability to introduce a well-planned curriculum, they serve as role models demonstrating the importance of knowledge, integrity, and responsibility in the field.

Each nominated instructor was given a thorough review by the editorial staff at The NEWS, along with the educational committee from the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI). Winners were chosen because of their dedication and commitment to HVAC students.

This year's Best Instructor is Billy Mozingo from Pitt Community College (Winterville, N.C.), and the runner-up is Guy Letrick from Monmouth County Vocational School (Freehold, N.J.). Receiving honorable mention were Eugene Silberstein of Suffolk County Community College (Brentwood, N.Y.), Gregory Goater of Isaac University (Rochester, N.Y.), Bernard Merkel of the International Training Institute (Rochester, N.Y.), and Mark Peila from Bates Technical College (Tacoma, Wash.).
